Inspiration

The idea for Care-Cloud was born from a deeply personal experience. Two of our team members went through periods of isolation—one due to COVID-19 and another due to chickenpox. Both experienced the emotional toll of being confined alone: the boredom, lack of motivation, and the overwhelming silence of isolation. These firsthand experiences revealed a major gap in existing wellness apps—there was no dedicated platform that truly understood or supported the emotional and daily struggles of someone in isolation. This inspired us to build Care-Cloud, a digital companion designed not just to track health, but to comfort, engage, and support users emotionally during their toughest times.

What it does

Care-Cloud is a cloud-based web application that acts as a wellness-focused companion during isolation. It helps users maintain their mental and physical health through features like:

  • Personalized Reminders for hydration, medication, mindfulness, and custom activities
  • Dynamic Health Tracker to log wellness routines and monitor progress
  • Chat System powered by Gemini AI, enabling emotionally intelligent, supportive conversations
  • Wellness Content Hub with guided meditations, self-care challenges, and curated tips
  • Mood-based Content Recommendations for entertainment such as books, podcasts, and games
  • Responsive, calming UI that ensures an accessible and comfortable user experience

How we built it

  • Frontend: React.js with Vite for fast rendering and modular design
  • Styling: TailwindCSS for a clean, responsive, mobile-friendly layout
  • Authentication: Firebase Authentication for secure user login
  • Database: Supabase for real-time data storage and activity logging
  • Chat System: Gemini AI integrated to simulate human-like interactions and provide intelligent support
  • Deployment: Configured for deployment on platforms like Vercel and Firebase Hosting
