About the Project
Inspiration
Cardiovascular diseases are a major health concern, and understanding potential risk factors can help people become more aware of their heart health. I wanted to explore how artificial intelligence, machine learning, and interactive 3D visualization could come together to make cardiovascular risk information easier to understand. This idea inspired me to build Cardiovascular Intelligence Lab, an interactive platform focused on cardiovascular risk assessment and visualization.
What I Learned
While developing this project, I explored how frontend development, data visualization, and machine learning concepts can work together in a healthcare-focused application. I also learned about presenting health-related information through dashboards, designing interactive user interfaces, and understanding the separation between a frontend application and a backend prediction system.
How I Built It
I started by developing the frontend dashboard using web technologies, focusing on an intuitive interface for entering cardiovascular risk factors and viewing relevant visualizations. I also explored interactive 3D heart visualization to make the experience more engaging and informative. The project is being developed with a modular structure so that a backend and a trained machine learning model can be integrated for cardiovascular risk prediction.
Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges was designing a visualization that felt interactive and meaningful rather than simply displaying static information. Another challenge was understanding how to connect the frontend with a backend prediction system and prepare the project for deployment. Working through these challenges helped me better understand the importance of integration, testing, and presenting technical information in a user-friendly way.
What's Next
My goal is to continue improving the 3D heart experience, integrate the trained machine learning model into the backend, and make the platform more reliable and accessible. Through this project, I hope to explore how technology can help make cardiovascular health information easier to understand while learning more about AI-driven healthcare applications.
