Inspiration

Cardiovascular disease is a major health challenge, and understanding cardiac risk can be difficult when health information is spread across multiple clinical features. We wanted to explore how AI could make cardiac risk assessment more understandable, interactive, and accessible.

What It Does

CardioLens AI is a machine-learning-based cardiovascular risk assessment prototype designed to turn cardiac health data into understandable risk insights. It combines predictive analysis with an intuitive interface to help users explore results and understand the factors relevant to a risk assessment.

How We Built It

We developed CardioLens as an AI-powered application that brings together data processing, machine learning, and interactive visualization. The project uses a cardiac dataset containing patient characteristics and clinical measurements to explore cardiovascular risk prediction.

The workflow focuses on preparing the input data, generating model predictions, presenting the results clearly, and making the underlying insights easier to explore. The interface is designed to make technical model outputs more understandable to users.

Challenges We Faced

One of the key challenges was turning structured clinical data into useful model inputs while keeping the results understandable. We also focused on presenting predictions responsibly, avoiding unsupported medical conclusions, and making the application accessible to users without a machine-learning background.

What We Learned

Building CardioLens helped us explore the relationship between data quality, machine-learning predictions, model evaluation, and user experience. We learned that a useful AI application needs more than a prediction: it also needs clear explanations, thoughtful visualization, and transparent limitations.

What's Next

Future improvements could include stronger model validation, more comprehensive explainability, broader clinical datasets, and additional validated data modalities. CardioLens is a prototype for exploration and research, not a replacement for professional medical evaluation.
