CARDIAPP
Business Plan
Our product is the CARDIAPP, which is an app that Pakistanis in urban areas can use to locate the hospital or tertiary care center that they could get to the quickest. A large urban center may have multiple hospitals and the closest one may not be the best choice as it could take the longest to get to due to traffic. Unlike the United States, an individual who needs to go to the hospital would be driven by a family member instead of an ambulance.
Our mobile app will allow the user to find the hospital that they could get to the quickest. Our app will utilize the existing Google maps API to determine the driver’s location and direct him/her to hospital by analyzing real time traffic. The driver would also have an option to go to another hospital if he/she wished.
Our app will be marketed to individuals in large cities where we have multiple institutions rather than rural areas that might only have one care center. In addition, data plans would be more prevalent in these areas. The app will be available for both android and Iphones. Our team includes a local physician who understands how hospitals in major urban areas work in developing countries and understands it’s challenges. Our team includes a quality engineer at a local software company and a CEO of a startup mobile app company. Since we all live in the Boston, an area that has traffic problems and an abundance of hospitals, we have an excellent environment for research and testing.
We currently have a working prototype and a test plan. In the next few months, we would like to incorporate the Google maps API. The app will be free to the end users so we will also examine revenue generating processes including incorporating it with a taxi service having premium features or having hospital sponsor the app, so that the app can be self sustaining. We will also examine the feasibility of additional features.

"Panic. Confusion. You're on full alert. Your family member is sweating, chest pain is pounding them, they're body is collapsing.
They're having a heart attack.
The streets around your home are jammed. Traffic to hospitals is absurd. You don't know what to do.
You tap your pockets. You take out your phone, and you sigh in relief. You remember that you have CardiApp by your side. You tap, it opens, and you see all the nearest tertiarty care hospitals nearby. They're sorted by the shortest traffic time to get there. You tap on the closest one, and your Google Map GPS directions with traffic information are brought right on your screen.
You've reduced your confusion, found a trustworthy hospital, and chosen the most time-efficient hospital-- and just saved your family member's life.
CardiApp will take care of you. "
