Inspiration

Blockchain adoption is growing, but accessibility to the non-technical crowd is lacking. Improving this even slightly helps bridge the knowledge gap.

What it does

Allows for the purchase of cryptocurrency gift cards using Fiat. (Cardano and Hedera)

How we built it

Built using an express backend, a stripe webhook, and transaction submitting APIs from the respective blockchain ecosystems.

Challenges we ran into

Time. We are a group of two so naturally we had double the amount of work, or half the amount of time depending on how you look at it. Would've been nice to have another day to add the finishing touches to the project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A functioning application that allows for a fiat payment that triggers an on-chain transaction.

What we learned

How to initiate an on-chain transaction from an express application. How to build a transaction confirmation listener with a callback to a blockchain.

What's next for Cardano Gift Card

Clean the codebase. Clean the UI. Read into regulation (Would this classify as an exchange? There is no off-ramp). Ship.
