Inspiration

I’ve always wanted to design my own playing cards. Thanks to Canva’s hackathon, I was able to combine my two passions: JavaScript programming and playing card games!

What it does

It generates 52 playing card templates with a click (or tap) of a button.

How I built it

With trial and error, I figured out the margins... of error.

Challenges we ran into

1) This is my first time making a Canva app, so learning how to make a basic app was my first challenge.

2) My second challenge was figuring out which images to use and how to load them. At first, I was loading too many at once, but then I figured out how to load just four.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of my project because the end result turned out so cute!! And it's an app I can actually use to make as many decks of physical cards as I would like.

What I learned

I can make cool stuff with JavaScript in Canva.

What's next for Card Maker

I might add a way to customize the templates a bit before generating them all out; right now my app is just one button that generates all 52 cards. For example, I could preset the colors or images.
