Inspiration
I was inspired to create Card Den because I needed a better way to study the content of my classes, and a simple flashcards website seemed like the best way to do it.
What it does
The user can simply add a card and enter the content that they want to be made into flashcards into the website. Then, they can click the Study button and begin studying their flashcards. They can flip the card, go to the previous or next card, or randomize the order in which the cards appear.
How I built it
I built the website using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and JavaScript. Tailwind made styling the HTML much easier.
Challenges
Some challenges I ran into were trying to figure out how I could make it easy for the user to update their cards. This was difficult to implement into the code because of the two sides for each card, and keeping track of the indices of each card,
Accomplishments
I was proud of the shuffle function that I created, which takes an array and shuffles the items into a random order.
What I learned
I learned the importance of creating a good foundation for my code to make it easy to build off of and add new features without needing to change much of the existing code.
Card Den's future
I plan to add different methods of studying, like giving the user one side of a card and needing to input the other side. I also plan to add a correct/incorrect system so users can keep track of the content they do and do not know.
