Inspiration

I wanted to build an application that would help in decreasing the global warming but reducing the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from cars.

What it does

The application uses a sensor attached to cars to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from the car, then the consumption will be shown on the application, for the driver to know how much carbon dioxide has his vehicle emitted. The driver should have a maximum amount of carbon dioxide allowance which is about 5.07 tons per year. If the driver exceeded the amount permitted he will have to pay for his extra consumption. The application is meant to be regulated or administrated by the government to enforce it on citizens.

How I built it

I first designed the application on Adobe XD, then I started building it on Flutter using, VSCode and Android Emulator.

Challenges I ran into

I couldn't finish the whole application, but I think the idea is great if I got to finish the whole project. Moreover, I worked alone, so the time was a bit short for me, since I had to design and code both alone.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Being able to finish the design and some of the screens of the application, was a great experience for me.

What I learned

How to reduce global warming, since I read a lot before starting my idea to have a solid base.

What's next for CarboRact

I will continue developing the application because I believe that, it will show a huge impact on our beloved Earth.
