Inspiration The inspiration behind CarbonSnap sprouted from a deep-rooted passion for environmental sustainability. Witnessing the escalating impact of climate change and understanding the role of consumer choices in contributing to it sparked the idea for a tool that empowers individuals with the knowledge to make eco-conscious decisions. The drive to bridge the gap between awareness and action fueled the creation of CarbonSnap.

What it does This app shows carbon impact of a product entered by user

How we built it The development of CarbonSnap involved a multidisciplinary approach. Leveraging AWS PartyRock for scalability and reliability, I crafted a some effective prompts for handling diverse product inputs.

Challenges we ran into The journey was not without its challenges. Accurately quantifying the carbon impact of a product demanded meticulous research into supply chains, manufacturing processes, and varying data sources. Balancing the complexity of environmental metrics with the need for a user-friendly interface presented a unique challenge in design. Addressing these challenges required a collaborative effort, drawing on expertise from environmental science, data analytics, and software development domains.

What we learned Creating applications using PartyRock

What's next for CarbonSnap Plan is to calculate Product carbon foot print for common products and display them, plan is also to show more sustainable alternate products to the user. Display carbon graph.
