Inspiration

We found the climate crisis to be a really important topic that we wanted to tackle. We wanted to find a fun and easy way for people to learn more about carbon emissions and access resources where they can take action.

What it does

It tells you how many pounds of carbon dioxide are emitted worldwide and by the top polluting companies. It also gives you fun facts about the environment and directs you to resources so you can educate yourself about the climate crisis.

How we built it

We used repl.it to code the discord bot, and used python as our primary coding language.

Challenges we ran into

We are all beginner coders, so we had no idea where to start and how to build a project. However, through failure and struggle, we were able to make a working bot!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are so proud that we were able to learn how to use various libraries and platforms on our own, and produce a really fun project!

What we learned

We learned how to use coding to educate people about the issue of climate change. We also learned how to use relp.it for making discord bots.

What's next for CarbonBot

We will continue to build out CarbonBot's features and accessibility!
