Inspiration
People in developing areas who don't have access to or knowledge about sustainable practices that they can replace their daily routines with.
What it does
It has a dropdown menu for users to input their choices into, tells them if it's either low, moderate, or high carbon emissions based on their answers, gives them advice on what to do instead of the activities that are high carbon emitters, and gives them an overall "Eco-Points" rating.
How I built it
Using Python and Flask on GitHub, with the help of AI.
Accomplishments I'm proud of
Doing my first hackathon, and using my passion for sustainability instead of focusing on making a super complex model.
Challenges I ran into
Making it simple enough to make sure the people who are using it don't get confused by unnecessary information.
What I learned
That sometimes in order to solve big problems, I need to think of simple solutions, that simple people can use.
What's next for Carbon Tracker
Turning it into an AI model that can give advise and answer more questions on how to reduce carbon emissions even further, and more efficiently (based on data). Also, adding an explanation feature to teach people more about climate change, so more people become passionate about help the environment.
