Our project allows users to test the effects of various policies by adjusting sliders to control variables like percent change in gas cars, electric cars, public transport, and energy policies to simulate the resulting the impact on overall CO2 emissions over the next 30 years. The project combines interactive UI elements from Material UI, with dynamic data calculations and real-time data visualization via React and Chart.js, making it a powerful tool for visualizing environmental policy effects. Lawmakers, voters, and climate change scientists can benefit from our project by testing the effect of various policies to determine the best course of action to reduce CO2 emissions and combat Climate Change.
Our project relates to sustainability because it calculates the impact of various policies regarding energy and transportation on CO2 emissions. Users can use our interactive platform and advanced stochastic calculations to make informed decisions on how to best reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change. This is especially relevant now because of the upcoming election and the candidate's varying policies on transportation and energy.
