Inspiration
Climate change is a huge problem that will affect the entire world. Educating people to prevent climate change is the key in order to reduce the impact of global warming as much as possible for future generations.
What it does
It helps people track their carbon footprint through a series of questions. Based on the questions, it then calculates their total emissions per day, and advises on how to reduce it.
How we built it
I used html, javascript and css in order to make the website running possible. I first used html to create the basic outline. I then used css to style it to make it better looking. Finally, I used javascript to make the program function to do the calculations.
Challenges we ran into
It was tricky to gather the data needed in order to make the calculations, and I had to use a lot of different sources to get the most accurate values. It was also challenging to style the website in the way that suit it the best.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm overall proud of the project I made, and it's potential impact on educating people on how to make the environment better
What we learned
I learned a lot about web design, and coding through javascript, html, and css.
What's next for Carbon Footprint tracker
I hope to make it more nice looking, and possibly add more questions and make it even more user-friendly and educational.
