Inspiration

This project was first created during 2020 Silicon Valley Hacks. Also during COVID-19 Pandemic. This website was also created on 2020 Earth Day. We want to unveil your contribution to climate change.

What it does

This project includes the following features:

1. You can see today's air quality in a map
2. Register/login (Google)
3. You can submit activities you did throughout the day, then it will give you how many co2 you emitted
4. You can view your history logs.

How we built it

We built it using Flask

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into are:

1. How to setup map
2. Air quality API
3. How to calculate CO2 (activities)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1. Google login
2. Air quality API (and it initializes the location by your location!)

What we learned

We learned how our daily activities can impact Earth. Also how to do research and use API.

What's next for Carbon Footprint

The next for Carbon Footprint is we will remain open-source (MIT) on GitHub. And we will keep adding new features whenever we got time. Everyone's welcome to contribute!
