Inspiration
What inspired us to do this project was seeing how much excess CO2 is being produced and how it hurts our environments so we chose to find alternatives users' lives to decrease the amount of CO2 produced.
What it does
Finding alternatives to reduce the amount of CO2 produced by giving alternative transportation methods and creating a sort of competition to keep users engaged with a weekly leaderboard.
How we built it
We used next.js to build our site and used MySQL database to hold our information with users' email and passwords. We used prisma as a connector to our database and HTML/CSS to further enhance our pages.
Challenges we ran into
Time management, getting API keys to work properly
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating the database, learning how to function with next.js
What we learned
Next.js, MySQL, Working with Github, and Web Design Language
What's next for Carbon Emission Distance Tracker
Enhancing our alternative public transportation map routes with more detailed maps and savings
