Inspiration

Global warming has been causing huge problems in the world and we are being hit by unbearable heat every summer. Greenhouse gases are a huge factor for this problem. So, we wanted to make something that will let people see there contribution to these issues and do something about it.

What it does

It calculates the user's yearly carbon emissions and also lets them know how many trees they need to plant to counter their emissions.

How we built it

We used Velo by Wix to build the frontend and Climatiq API to calculate the carbon emissions.

Challenges we ran into

This was the first time we were using Wix so we had to learn it on the go. Lots of things went wrong but in the end we got it working.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of how it turned out as it was our first ever hackathon submission.

What we learned

We learned a lot about teamwork and how to take a project from design to deployment.

What's next for Carbolator

We do not have any idea at the moment where we will go from here. Maybe we will add some more features or turn it into a tracker web app, where users can login and track their day to day activities.
