Carbon Cut

Inspiration

Carbon Cut was inspired by the need for a platform to track and reduce carbon emissions in business.

What it does

Allows for the user to manage and track the amount of energy usage and their carbon footprint as well as give the user recommendations to cut costs while reducing overall carbon footprint.

How we built it

We built our project by starting to use sigma in order brainstorm and design aspects of our project that will allow for user accessibility but also be efficient. After that we built the application based on our vision from the sigma and tested various scenarios that the user may have to make sure everything works smoothly.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into was figuring out how to make some of our buttons on the dashboard work and making sure we are able to accomplish the design we had planned.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

W =e are proud to have been able to design something that is both efficient and also easy to use for users with a simplistic design that is not overwhelming

What we learned

We learned a lot about the importance of planning before starting any project as nearly everything occurs in the planning stage

What's next for Carbon Cut

Carbon cut plans to expand into companies and allow for employees to see the dashboard data in real time either on a company screen or as a widget on work computers to make employees more aware of their energy usage and carbon footprint so that they can be more mindful for the sake of our planet and their workplace.
