Inspiration
We are emitting more carbon than it's produced by trees, so to minimise this gap we need to have a dedicated place for people to know about trees - their carbon production and a place to purchase it from.
What it does
It provides a platform for users to know about what tree species would be the best match for their local environment and how much carbon can it produce
How we built it
Umair Jibran designed the API using NodeJS that list all the available species, add new specie, get specific specie, let the user login/sign up as well as persist the data in a centralised place, i.e. MongoDB Ja'Zmin McKeel designed the User Interface before she started developing the frontend using ReactJS where she followed the designed UI strictly and made the entire frontend interface of the application. where the user could log in, sign up, make an order, add items to cart and other required functionalities
Challenges we ran into
Challenge for Umair was that he has never made API for login and signup purposes, where he faced difficulty but overcome those challenges. Challenge for Ja'Zmin was that she has recently started developing in ReactJS and faced minor challenges but overcame those without a problem.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we made it work even with the time difference of about 10 hours, we made and integrated the application.
What we learned
We learned that anything can be accomplished if we put our heads into it.
What's next for Carbon Control
We plan on publishing it, after adding some more features to it, it will be solely for the good of _ Planet Earth _
to get in debt detail of our backend, check this video out it's just 1:40
