Simple Carbon Calculator

This is a simple web application that calculates the carbon footprint based on user input for electricity usage, miles driven by car, meat consumption, and flight hours per year.

This project was developed in a short amount of time, and I anticipate making additional updates and improvements over time. I apologize for any mistakes or shortcomings in the current version.

Inspiration

The Carbon Footprint Calculator was inspired by the urgent need for individuals to understand and reduce their environmental impact.

What It Does

This tool calculates users' carbon emissions based on daily activities like energy use, travel, and diet, helping them visualize and manage their contributions to climate change. It also suggest some recommendations based on the amount carbon footprint calculated.

How We Built It

I developed the app with Flask, a Python web framework, integrating APIs for real-time data and using Chart.js for dynamic data visualization.

I faced challenges with data accuracy, integrating real-time APIs, and ensuring user-friendly design across devices.
