Inspiration
Car loan and lease agreements are often complicated and difficult for customers to understand. Important details such as interest rates, penalties, and hidden charges are usually buried in long legal documents. Our inspiration was to build an AI-powered solution that simplifies these contracts and helps users clearly understand the financial terms before signing an agreement.
What it does
The Car Lease Negotiation AI Assistant allows users to upload a car loan or lease contract in PDF format. The system extracts key financial information such as interest rate, EMI, loan tenure, and penalty charges. It then displays the results in a clear dashboard and provides AI-based suggestions on which contract terms can potentially be negotiated.
How we built it
We built the project using a modern AI-powered tech stack. The frontend was developed using Flutter to provide a simple and responsive user interface. The backend was implemented using Flask to handle API requests and process uploaded files. OCR technology was used to extract text from PDF contracts. Google Gemini AI was integrated to analyze the extracted text and identify financial terms and negotiation opportunities. MongoDB was used to store extracted data and analysis results.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was extracting accurate information from different contract formats because financial documents vary in structure and wording. Another challenge was integrating OCR, AI analysis, and the backend services into a smooth workflow. Ensuring that the AI provided meaningful and reliable negotiation suggestions also required careful prompt design and testing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a working prototype that can analyze car loan contracts and highlight important financial terms automatically. The AI assistant can help users identify hidden charges and suggest negotiation opportunities, making financial agreements more transparent and easier to understand.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI models with real-world applications. We gained hands-on experience with Flutter for frontend development, Flask for backend APIs, OCR for document processing, and Google Gemini AI for intelligent analysis. We also improved our understanding of system design and AI-powered automation.
What's next for Car Lease Negotiation AI Assistant
In the future, we plan to enhance the system by adding contract risk scoring, automatic clause highlighting inside the document, and comparison of multiple loan offers. We also aim to improve the AI negotiation assistant to provide more personalized financial recommendations for users.
