In many cases, it costs more money to do things in a more sustainable way - a sort of green tax. This green tax varies in industries. In the case of personal vehicles the green tax is decreasing. As gas prices are at an extreme high, the green tax is decreasing. The cost of a car is more than the cost of it at the lot, as there are gas mileage costs and the carbon cost. Our project aims to highlight the cost in CO2 emissions and $ amount of your car type in a year. You can then compare this cost to other cars that are either more or less eco friendly and cost efficient over time in hopes to identify a strong correlation to more sustainable cars being less expensive in the long run.

What it does

A user can select a car's make, model, and year and see the average cost the car will have in a year based on how many miles you drive in a day/week/month.

How we built it

We used data from the EPA of CO2 emissions from car types.

Challenges we ran into

Finding a database or website that would allow us to scrape data to get average gas prices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
