Inspiration
Growing up, my family was a big fan of road-trips which inspired me to create a cost calculating travel app for others who like the road!
What it does
To use, you must enter estimates (or exact data) relating to the road-trip you are planning! Keep in mind that this is a rough estimate that will give you an idea of how much you should be saving in order to go on the trip. Enter in the data as directed on the user interface and happy travels!
How we built it
This application was built in Python using the MecSimCalc platform!
Challenges we ran into
Since there are a limited amount of libraries that I am allowed to use, it was tough finding alternative ways to incorporate maps/web-scraping/routing into the app. It taught me to problem-solve to find new "out-of-the-box" ways to find the solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
With the libraries that I was given, I was happy that some web-scraping could be performed with the use of APIs and non-parseable web-scraping.
What we learned
I learned how to utilize and enhance my app with APIs and build maps and routes with different Python libraries!
