Inspiration

Ecommerce has seen exponential growth in innovation and technology in the past two decades. From books to groceries, medicines to flowers, and now we can try clothes and lenses before we buy them. However, when it comes to buying a car- a valuable investment, we prefer to get an in-person experience to understand the intricate features of a car like leg space, trunk space, functionalities, and many more… We wish to provide you with the same experience from the comfort of your home!

What it does

Wheel AR attempts to make your online car shopping experience more realistic one

How we built it

WheelAR is a solution to create an Augmented Reality that is user-friendly. The application features 3-D models of cars and other models that make use of AR to mimic an in-person experience. The most crucial component of building this project is the designing of an experience that the user is guaranteed to enjoy and embrace.

Challenges we ran into

Building a full-fledged AR application with Unity in a hackathon is a feat we all aspire to achieve, but we overcame the challenges posed by the limitation in time by bringing to you the visual and design aspects of our application using Lens Studio and Spark AR Studio.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a solution that can potentially enhance and increase the online vehicle purchasing experience amongst all age groups. Whether you are too busy to visit the showroom or the nearest one is yet too far, find your right wheel from your home!

What we learned

Being new to the domain of Augmented Reality our team was quick on their feet to find ways and tools to create a solution. Implementing touch, visual scripting, 3-D object manipulation, animation, and much more!

What's next for WheelAR

Integrate more functionalities such as speed-simulation, speaker testing, seat adjustment, and shock absorption using haptics to enhance user experience. We can scale it to multiple platforms including the web.
