In CapyCommissions - Drawing Simulator, you play as an artist completing commissions with the goal of growing your online art business.
Complete timed pixel art challenges from "clients" and upgrade your studio space in order to grow your Reputation as an artist!
How to play
In CapyCommissions - Drawing Simulator there are two core gamemodes, Freelance Shift and Side Commissions:
- In Freelance Shift mode, players race through a timed commission rush, a fast-paced experience in which players must draw their pixel art according to the "clients'" image and text prompts.
- On the other hand, Side Commissions, is a low-pressure, drop-in experience where new pixel art commission requests appears every 3 minutes, refreshing whether the player choses to do them or not.
After completing a commission in any mode, players will receive a rating impacting their Reputation as well as CapyCoins for how accurately their commission was completed according the "client's" specifications (assessed by an AI model).
Currency and Progression
There are several key resources CapyCommissions - Drawing Simulator:
- CapyCoins - Basic currency earned from completing commissions
- CapyTokens - Premium currency, can be used for premium accessories or to refill Energy
- Energy - Required for starting a Freelance Shift
- Reputation - Progression/experience resource accumulated with gameplay
As players accumulate CapyCoins, they can spend them on upgrades for their workstation, increasing the amount of Reputation they accumulate. As players increase their Reputation, they'll unlock more challenging but more rewarding commissions and more workstation upgrades.
Upgrading the workstation
As the player progress, they'll unlock upgrades to their workstation that are purchasable with CapyCoins. Upgrades can give benefits such as additional colour palettes (allows for greater rewards), increased time limit during Freelance Commissions (easier to complete drawing), and less Energy costs for commissions / better Energy regeneration (able to accept more commissions faster). The upgrades also provide aesthetic improves that can be customized and shown off to other players when in multiplayer.
Inspiration
CapyCommissions - Drawing Simulator is a reimagining of our previous game Pixel Art: Doodle Dash! for the genre of Simulation and Management. It aims to give the player the role of entrepreneur in addition to artist, and adds a progression system rewarding dedicated players.
What's next for CapyCommissions - Drawing Simulator
Multiplayer drawing: Multiplayer will exist where players are in the world together, can talk with each other but are at their own desks drawing their own works. A future feature would be a 3rd commission type where players can draw together. Workspace customization combos: Different commissions may require different workspace setups, certain desk setups may enhance performance for specific commissions, and other setups may slow progression if mismatched. This introduces strategic preparation before each shift/commission. In-App Storefront: Purchase currencies and unique upgrades with real-world money. CapyTokens trickle in with rewards, but this will allow players to instantly upgrade their desk, replenish/increase their energy, and receive other bonuses right away.
