Inspiration
Often times when trying to stick to a healthy diet, we fail to see to get creative and explore what other flavors maybe our there. Everyone has different taste and different health goals. Capybara Cafe's missions is to bring back flavor, personalization and variety back into healthy living.
What it does
Capybara Cafe takes the users personal health goals, ingredient and flavor preference and returns with a recipe that matches to the user, accompanied by step-by-step directions on perfect execution.
How we built it
We created our application using the Phaser, a Javascript game framework. We used Google's Gemini model for our Gen AI component. We also use Google's Programmable Search Engine API to populate the food items dynamically based on the recipe.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was using JavaScript and collaborating using git.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
An accomplishment that we are proud of is learning how to use and train LLM's. It was a first of my entire team, but we were determined to bring Capybara Cafe to life. We spent more of our time learning and in the end was able to produce a product that is able to preform its intended funcation.
What we learned
A big learning curve for the team was learning how to use API's and LLM's. We are rather inexperienced with working with these frameworks, so it took a lot of trial and error, but in the end we were able to make it work.
What's next for Capybara Cafe
In the future, we would like to make the website more interactive, allowing multiple user to save and share recipes they considered to be helpful and delicious. We would also like to enter a game mode, that allows the user to assemble the food in game, giving them a feel for prep time and process.
