Inspiration
Growing up I used to love playing a good game of capture the flag. After chatting with a gamer friend the idea to create this game came up, and it was like finding a gold nugget.
What it does
Allows for team competition and rivalry between players. No two games will ever go the same, and the fun is endless.
How we built it
This was built in a blend of VR and Desktop Editor tools. The map was designed to allow the maximum route options to sneak into the opposing base and steal the flag.
Challenges we ran into
Bugs, so many bugs! We found them and over came them with patience and time. Add learning TypeScript to the bucket as well. Thank goodness for my previous learning of JS which helped a bit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to submit this version of the game. So much more we have in store, and just ran out of time. This was my first project I did all myself, and that was a major achievement for me.
What we learned
How to think out side the box to resolve bugs in code or player behaviors, and how to solve them fairly. As well as how to use type script, and blend it with use of codeblocks.
What's next for Capture the flag
New rewards tiers, Tools/Weapons for players when certain levels are reached. As well as perks you can purchase with TOONIES( points ) players have earned playing the game or in other TOON worlds.
