Inspiration : We wanted to create a fast-paced and stylish shooter using simple shapes with personality. The idea of a lone capsule cowboy defending his town from demon-possessed capsules felt fun, unique, and creative enough to turn into a full WebGL experience.

What it does : Capsule Wars is a wave-based shooter where you play as a cowboy capsule fighting hordes of demon-infested enemies. Each wave becomes more intense, pushing players to move, shoot, dodge, and survive as long as possible.

How we built it

The game was developed in Unity 6 using C# for player movement, enemy AI, wave progression, and combat mechanics. Sound effects and voices were generated with ElevenLabs, while ChatGPT and Claude AI supported coding, design decisions, and creative direction. Finally, the game was exported to WebGL and optimized for browser play through itch.io.

Challenges we ran into

Getting WebGL builds to load correctly on itch.io Fixing scaling issues when playing in-browser Designing simple but expressive enemies using only capsule shapes Balancing waves so the game feels fun, not overwhelming Performance optimization for browser gameplay

Accomplishments that we're proud of Creating a complete and polished WebGL shooter Giving personality to simple capsule characters Making smooth movement, shooting, and wave progression Successfully deploying the game online for public play

What we learned How to properly build and deploy Unity WebGL projects How to optimize visual effects and scripts for browser performance Better enemy AI design and wave balancing How AI tools can speed up development without replacing creativity

What’s next for Capsule Wars Game Adding new enemy types with unique behaviors Implementing boss fights Unlockable weapons and upgrades Better visual effects and animations More maps and environments A survival or endless mode PC standalone versions
