As part of my High school capstone project, I designed and developed an aerodynamic flap model aimed at improving efficiency and reducing drag in fluid flow systems. Using updated CAD software, I meticulously designed and crafted the model, involving key design elements to optimize aerodynamic performance. To assess the effectiveness of the design, I conducted a series of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, which provided valuable insights into airflow patterns, pressure distribution, and drag forces.
Through an interactive design and simulation process, I continuously refined the model, testing various configurations to achieve the most efficient aerodynamic features. The project not only expanded my understanding of fluid dynamics, but it also sharpened my skills in simulation tools and engineering problem-solving. This experience laid the foundation for my future studies in Computational Engineering and Aerodynamics/Aviation.
