Capital Two

Inspiration

During these two years of learning about handling finances as students in university, we often wished we had known the things we learned on day one of our journey, rather than through challenging experiences. We aspire to provide all individuals with the opportunity to enhance their credit scores if they desire to learn how to do so. This objective can be achieved through the web app that we plan to develop. ***UPDATE: During our 24-hour hackathon, we encountered some issues with the use of our initial framework and had to come to a decision to restart and create another from scratch to resolve our issue. This gave us under 2hours to complete and finalize a fully working web application and implement a working backend using the Capital One Hackathon API.

What it does

This web app is intended to display users' credit scores from the data gathered from the API given by Capital 1. It gives you a guide on how to improve your credit score, credit limit, and risk score management. It tells you how credit scores and limits are reduced and how to improve on them.

We set tasks for each member of our group improving our teamwork skills, and then planned and used React to create the web app for the project at hand.

What we learned

Before attempting this project we were new to the use of React in creating a web app which we decided to learn and use during the time period of making it through:

Effective Team Collaboration by Coordinating as a team of developers and designers was a crucial part of the project. I learned how to communicate more effectively, assign tasks to each other, and create a collaborative setting. Patience and Persistence: Coding can be challenging, and I encountered moments of frustration. But I learned to be patient and persistent, seeking solutions and not giving up when faced with difficult issues. Continuous Learning: Perhaps the most significant lesson was the importance of continuous learning. The tech world is ever-evolving, and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements is essential.
