The "Capital Safe" Chrome Extension is a tool designed to enhance online security by determining potential security threats on websites, specifically focusing on their reliability for making online payments. The extension can be run on any website to provide users with information and insights into the website's safety for financial transactions.

Our inspiration for this project came from the growing concern about online security and the increasing number of cyber threats targeting online shoppers and financial transactions. We recognized a need for a user-friendly tool that could help individuals make informed decisions about the safety of websites when making online payments.

We developed the "Capital Safe" Chrome Extension using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the user interface and core functionality. Additionally, we integrated three APIs that specialize in checking various parameters of a website to assess its security.

Developing a Chrome Extension for the first time posed a significant learning curve. We needed to familiarize ourselves with the Chrome Extension architecture, manifest files, and the Chrome API. Overcoming this initial hurdle required time and patience. Difficulty in API Integration: Integrating three different APIs into our extension presented its own set of challenges. Each API had its own documentation and authentication requirements, which required careful attention to detail. Debugging and ensuring that data from these APIs was consistent and reliable took substantial effort.
