Inspiration

There’s no doubt that school is stressful, and the crushing weight of tens of thousands of dollars of debt only adds to that burden. Studies show that 68% of students literally lose sleep over school-associated stress. Many of them turn to things like substance abuse to help them cope with insomnia. Keeping a budget can help to reduce stress by providing a sense of organization, understanding, and consistency within your finances. For this reason we created this budgeting app that is associated with Capital One that will allow you to access and manage your spendings quick and easy.

What it does

The user is presented with a login screen when they first open the program. Here, the user has the option of logging in or creating a brand-new account. After doing so, the user may enter their information to gain access to the page where they can set a budget. Following completion of that task, the user is then brought to the main screen, where they may view their account balance and conduct transactions that would reduce the budget amount.

How we built it

We built this app utilizing FlutterFlow (UI Design), Flutter, Dart, and Google Firebase.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most difficult problems we ran into was integrating flutter with the firebase. By connecting flutter with firebase this allows us to store the data in the database.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Most importantly we are proud to make a mobile app within 24 hour, as well as being able to create something that will benefit the community. Using firebase for the first time as a database and being able to integrate it with flutter.

What we learned

We learned how to flutter to design our app. this allowed us to give our app a clean and modern look.

What's next for Capital One - Budgeting App

We were unable to include our graphing system into the app due to scheduling constraints. The user may monitor their daily expenditures and see in real time what they have purchased and when using the graphing system. .
