Inspiration
Our Inspirations to create Capital Juan is to make a secure and user friendly banking app that everyone could feel safe storing their money in. Money is what we work for so we want to make sure ours is safe, secure and available when we need it.
What it does
We created a web app that allows users to create profiles and log in that are protected against all types of attacks that can be made to steal information or worse, our currency. To log in, users have to provide their email and password, then be directed to a facial recognition page where they have to appear in front of the camera to authenticate their account and log them in.
How we built it
We used Vue as a front end, with Node.js as a backend. we used mongo DB as our database and multiple different libraries to provide the most security possible in our code.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up a database and connecting it while making profiles with the database and creating the logic for logging in securely within 36 hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating database, user profiles, facial recognition, ciphered text.
What we learned
All the different types of attacks from the MITRE attack framework and how to defend against them.
What's next for Capital Juan
Taking the skills we learned during our time creating Capital Juan and applying them to help build more secure applications.
