Inspiration

We were inspired by the growing need for transparency in fintech. Financial ledger systems are often too complex, leading to security gaps. We built CapTrack to provide a clear, real-time, and audit-ready view of capital flow, ensuring every transaction is verified and compliant. ##What it does CapTrack is an AI-driven financial monitoring ledger. It tracks transactions, performs real-time Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, and maintains an immutable audit trail. It flags high-risk activities instantly, ensuring financial ecosystems remain secure and transparent. ##How we built it We utilized a high-integrity, single-file Python architecture to ensure stability and eliminate dependency errors. The system uses a persistent JSON-ledger for data integrity, integrated with algorithmic risk-assessment logic that evaluates transaction security based on volume and risk scores. ##Challenges we ran into Our biggest challenge was ensuring ledger integrity while maintaining high performance. We addressed this by implementing atomic data-handling functions that prevent file corruption, ensuring data consistency even during high-frequency transaction updates. ##Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud of creating a robust, dependency-free system that is audit-ready out-of-the-box. We successfully correlated complex financial input with automated risk-assessment triggers, creating a reliable "Digital Defense" layer for financial apps. ##What we learned We learned the critical importance of data persistence and immutability in fintech. Building CapTrack deepened our understanding of cybersecurity protocols, regulatory compliance, and the architectural design required to build software that users and auditors can trust.
