Goal

Team of three were expected to design a cantilever bridge and hold as much weight as possible, and adjust their design accordingly. The catch is we were given limited materials so we had to carefully utilize them.

Initially, our team had several different designs but while improving our designs, we realized the simpler the design is, the most stronger it is proven.

Result

We didn't achieve the best design award but this activity taught us how to prototype design, we made use of online resources to help us calculate the stress and strains in each members of the bridge. The members of the bridge that had zero force in them, should be shaved down as much as possible. One of the members often buckled while testing, so later we learned that we should really make those members as strong as possible.
