What it does
Cani is a money manager you call from the point of purchase — before the money moves. Upload statements once, confirm what's genuinely committed, then ask "Can I buy this?" and get a hard, explainable verdict: YES or NO you can audit.
The AI never touches the numbers or the verdict: a deterministic, versioned decide() engine writes every verdict; the AI layer only classifies, proposes, and coaches — text only. The ledger is append-only; every decision snapshots its inputs and engine version so any verdict can be reproduced exactly.
Essential lanes (fuel, pharmacy, groceries at known merchants) ride free within caps. A second ask can't shame-bypass a NO — the bypass is priced in months of goal delay.
PayPal + AI
The same engine is exposed over MCP: cani.ask returns an auditable YES/NO (never moves money); checkout.attempt lets an agent attempt a real purchase — a governed NO returns a structured decline with no PayPal order created; a YES creates a real sandbox PayPal order. PayPal Orders create/capture run against the sandbox with a webhook writing results into the ledger.
