Inspiration
The inspiration behind my project stems from the desire to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers in a seamless, empowering way. Witnessing the challenges individuals faced in finding fitting roles and companies in sourcing the right talent sparked the vision for our platform.
What it does
This platform helps people find jobs they love and helps companies find talented people to join their teams. It's like a matchmaker for jobs and job seekers, where the resume shortlisting and candidate selection process has been made easy. Additionally, it offers resources and training to help job seekers build their skills and succeed in their careers.
How we built it
I built it using a No-Code tool named Bubble (as mentioned in the GHW Beginner's Week challenge). I initially thought of a problem statement and explored various platforms/solutions around it. Later, I noted all the strengths and weaknesses of these alternatives, and went ahead with creating CandidConnect, a platform to make hiring process easier for HRs and provide a place for the buds of young talents to sprout. It initially began with workflow design, to later building the prototype on bubble, accompanied by manual testing of the platform.
Challenges we ran into
Undoubtedly, aligning data analytics to meet HR needs required constant iteration and fine-tuning. Also, I wanted to build a more simplistic way for the HRs to shortlist the candidates, based on the job/internship opening and the user's skill-set and experiences. I'm brainstorming to find more feasible methods of implementing this feature.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I built it in a short limited time span on the very first day of exploring bubble! Also, coming up with appealing UI and building it with a minimal design was something I liked about this project (as I'm terrible at front end design sometimes)
What we learned
I implemented various concepts of Database management system in this application on the backend, since all the data shown on the platform is based on the recruiter's job postings and applicant's application for internship/jobs. Also, I learnt how to use dynamic data and web pages in Bubble. Overall It was a great learning experience.
What's next for CandidConnect : Your Dream Job, Just One Click Away
Will be adding features to make the hiring process for the HRs and recruiters, which would include integrated ATS score evaluation, video conferencing and mailing system on the recruiter's end, along with free training courses & project building tutorials for the applicant's end. This can also include a feedback system where recruiter's can send a collective feedback to the rejected applications, and giving them a scope to improve their profile for future job openings.
