🌟 Inspiration

Every student knows the feeling of walking across campus late at night, trying to guess the safest route… or wandering between libraries searching for a quiet place to study. Campus life is unpredictable—some areas are crowded, some are deserted, and some are noisy or poorly lit.

I wanted to build something real, something students would use every day, not just a hackathon demo. That’s how CampusSense began: an AI-powered smart campus platform that helps students navigate safer, study smarter, and understand their environment in real time.

Inspired by smart-city systems, but built for students, CampusSense turns any campus into a living, sensing ecosystem.

CampusSense uses anonymous sensor data + AI to give students real-time awareness of their surroundings: 🔹 Crowdedness Heatmaps Shows where campus is busy, empty, or active based on motion + traffic patterns. 🔹 Safe Route Finder AI suggests safer or better-lit paths at night using noise levels, foot traffic, and user sensors. 🔹 Smart Study Spot Finder Shows which buildings or rooms are quiet or noisy right now, so you can instantly find the best place to work. 🔹 Privacy-First Design

No GPS tracking. No identity collection. No raw audio recording. Only anonymous, aggregated environmental signals.
