Inspiration

Students often manage assignments, deadlines, class schedules, and study sessions across different tools. We wanted to bring these everyday academic tasks into one workspace that makes it easier to understand what needs attention and plan study time.

What it does

CampusMate AI is a student productivity dashboard that brings together academic task management, assignment deadlines, study planning, study progress, and a conversational assistant. The interface also demonstrates a browser-based voice-assistant experience for academic queries.

How we built it

The project uses React and Vite for the frontend, FastAPI for the Python backend, and SQLite for task storage. The interface includes a dashboard, task management, an AI-assistant chat view, a study planner, and a timetable.

The current voice-assistant experience is presented as a simulation rather than a native Alexa+ integration.

Challenges and learning

A key challenge was connecting the frontend to the backend and configuring the application for deployment. The project provided experience with frontend/backend integration, API communication, database-backed task management, and deployment.

Team contributions

The project was developed collaboratively. Team members contributed in different areas; the final submission should accurately describe each person's implementation, integration, testing, and documentation work.
