CampusMate was inspired by a simple problem I noticed as a college student: keeping track of attendance and calculating CGPA can become confusing when everything has to be done manually. I wanted to build a small, simple tool that could make these everyday calculations easier for students. I built CampusMate using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I focused on keeping the interface clean and beginner-friendly, with two main tools: an Attendance Tracker and a CGPA Calculator. I also made the website responsive so it can be used comfortably on a phone, tablet or laptop. While building the project, I learned a lot about HTML structure, CSS styling, JavaScript functions, input handling and calculation logic. I also learned how to deploy a web project using Netlify and prepare it for a hackathon submission. One of the biggest challenges was getting the JavaScript calculations and input validation to work correctly. I also faced some difficulties while developing through a tablet and setting up the project environment. Debugging these problems helped me understand how different parts of a web application work together. This project is a starting point, and I would like to add features such as saving student data, attendance shortage alerts, semester history and an offline mode in the future.
