Inspiration

Students often face campus problems such as maintenance issues, water supply problems, cleanliness issues, and safety concerns. Reporting these problems through traditional methods can make it difficult to track whether action has been taken. We wanted to build a simple platform that makes campus complaint reporting and tracking more transparent.

What it does

CampusFix AI is a campus complaint management platform that connects students with the appropriate campus authorities.

Students can report problems, provide the location and details, track complaint status, and view their complaint history. Authorities can manage assigned complaints, update their status, and monitor unresolved issues. The system also supports an escalation workflow for complaints that remain unresolved beyond the defined timeline.

How we built it

We built CampusFix AI as a responsive web application using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

The application uses browser Local Storage to maintain complaint data and application state. We designed separate student and authority workflows, including complaint submission, complaint tracking, filtering, detailed complaint views, status updates, and escalation handling.

The project is hosted using GitHub Pages, with the source code maintained on GitHub.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was designing a clear complaint workflow that connects students, authorities, complaint status, deadlines, and escalation in a simple interface.

We also had to make sure that complaint information remained consistent across different sections of the application while working with a browser-based Local Storage system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a complete working prototype that covers the complaint journey from reporting to resolution.

The project includes student complaint submission, complaint tracking, an authority dashboard, detailed complaint views, filtering, status management, and an escalation workflow. We also focused on making the interface responsive and easy to navigate.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to turn a real-world campus problem into a structured software solution.

We gained practical experience in frontend development, JavaScript application logic, Local Storage, responsive UI design, GitHub-based development, and designing workflows around different types of users.
