Inspiration
We wanted to make it easier for college students to find resources around them.
What it does
It helps the average college student find resources that are rarely available and free.
How we built it
We used React for the frontend, Javascript, node Express for backend, and implemented API calls to fetch data from the internet.
Challenges we ran into
We struggled finding the API url for the Zillow page, getting the wrong port, and run into complex dependency issues.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to merge everything successfully and get it to work.
What we learned
We learned how to review our code to find problems and how to restore previous versions to see the errors.
What's next for CampusCompass
We plan to implement a chatbot to make it easier for users to navigate the website and receive guidance on budget questions.
