Inspiration
The Campus Care project was inspired by the need to provide students and campus community members with essential tools to handle emergencies confidently. From first aid tutorials to safety tips and advanced wearable integrations, the app aims to enhance personal and campus-wide safety.
What it does
-Tutorials for first aid techniques like CPR, bleeding control, and choking assistance. -Quick-dial access to emergency services with automatic location sharing. -Storage of critical medical information for use in emergencies. -Campus-specific safety tips and resource links. -Integration with wearable devices for fall detection, health monitoring, and SOS alerts.
How we built it
-Designed an intuitive app interface to ensure ease of use during stressful situations. -Integrated wearable technology for advanced safety features like fall detection and health monitoring. -Developed algorithms for accurate fall and health issue detection. -Incorporated emergency notification systems triggered by specific events.
Challenges we ran into
-Fine-tuning algorithms for wearable device integration to minimize false alarms. -Balancing comprehensive features with a user-friendly interface. -Ensuring the app's reliability under varying conditions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-Successfully integrating advanced health and safety features into an accessible app. -Enhancing campus safety through a blend of technology and practical resources. -Providing peace of mind to users with real-time emergency response capabilities
What we learned
-The importance of intuitive design in emergency-focused applications. --How wearable technology can be leveraged to improve personal safety. The critical role of collaboration and testing in developing a robust safety solution.
What's next for CampusCare
-Expanded Wearable Integrations: Enhance compatibility with more wearable devices to provide a broader range of safety and health monitoring features. -AI-Driven Alerts: Incorporate AI to analyze user behavior and vital signs for predictive safety alerts, such as identifying potential health risks before emergencies occur
