Inspiration

Students often have books, notes, stationery and other useful resources that they no longer need, while other students may need the same resources and end up purchasing them again. We wanted to solve this simple campus problem by creating a platform where students can exchange, donate and discover resources and skills within their student community.

How we built it

We use AI for price prediction and fraud detection. Saved Rs 12,720 and 48kg waste. Built for Prom Fall Classic Hackathon - Education Track.

AI #Education #Sustainability

We developed the project as a modern web application with a clean and student-friendly interface. We focused on creating an intuitive experience where students can easily list resources, explore available items, manage their profile and connect through resource and skill exchanges.

We also included features such as student verification, reputation/reviews, impact tracking and personalized resource management. Python, Flask, Teachable Machine, Hugging Face, No-Code AI

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was bringing multiple features together while keeping the platform simple and easy to use. We also had to think about building trust between students, especially for exchanges and donations. Designing a smooth user experience while maintaining all the functionality was another challenge we worked through.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of turning a common campus problem into a functional platform that can create real value for students. We successfully brought together resource exchange, donations, skill sharing, wishlists, student profiles, reputation and impact tracking in one platform. We are especially proud of creating a solution that promotes affordability, sustainability and student-to-student collaboration.

What we learned

This project taught us how to convert a real-world problem into a practical digital solution. We learned more about building and connecting different features, designing for users, and solving problems through an iterative development process. We also learned the importance of keeping a product simple, useful and focused on its users.

What's next for Campus Resource Exchange

We plan to make Campus Resource Exchange smarter and more connected by adding in-campus chat and notifications, better student-to-resource matching, location-based discovery and personalized recommendations. We also want to expand impact tracking so students can see how much money, resources and waste they help save through reuse and sharing.
