Inspiration

Students often struggle to keep track of important campus information such as events, notices, deadlines, resources, notes, and academic updates. Information gets scattered across WhatsApp groups, emails, documents, and different websites. We wanted to build a simple AI-powered solution that makes campus information easier to store, search, and retrieve.

What It Does

Campus Memory AI acts as an intelligent memory for campus life. Students can add important information and use AI-powered search to quickly find relevant content. The system helps organize campus information and makes it easier to access when needed.

How We Built It

We built the project as a web application with an AI-powered interface and a structured database. CockroachDB is used to store and manage application data, while AI capabilities help users interact with and retrieve relevant information more naturally. The frontend provides a simple and user-friendly experience for students.

Challenges We Faced

One of the main challenges was designing a system that could organize different types of campus information while keeping the user experience simple. We also had to connect the AI functionality with the database and make sure information could be retrieved efficiently.

What We Learned

Through this project, we learned how to integrate AI into a real-world web application, work with CockroachDB, design a practical database-backed application, and connect different technologies into one working system. We also learned that a useful AI product should solve a specific problem rather than simply add AI as a feature.

Future Improvements

In the future, we plan to add personalized recommendations, smarter semantic search, automatic summarization of campus notices, event reminders, and integrations with common student platforms.
