Inspiration
CampusHub was inspired by a simple question — why do amazing student projects disappear after grading? Every semester, students put effort into innovative ideas that never reach a wider audience. We wanted to change that — by building a single platform where students can upload, showcase, and collaborate on their work, keeping innovation alive beyond the classroom.
What it does
A platform that centralizes student projects, making it easy for learners to upload, showcase, and collaborate on innovations while giving universities a digital hub for creativity and growth.
How we built it
Frontend: React.js (Vite) + TailwindCSS for a clean, responsive UI. Backend: Node.js with Express and MongoDB for API and database handling. Auth & Security: JWT authentication, bcrypt password hashing, CORS, Helmet. Hosting: Render (backend) + Vercel (frontend). Version Control: GitHub for collaboration
Challenges we ran into
Time pressure: delivering a working MVP in less than 24 hours.
API connection issues between Vercel and Render (CORS, HTTPS mismatches).
Debugging deployment builds under pressure.
Managing a team with mixed experience levels.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having come up with a solution that will impact the future of many graduates
What we learned
Building and deploying a full-stack web app under tight time limits.. Handling JWT tokens and role-based access control securely.
Working as a real dev team: frontend–backend coordination, Git workflow, and deployment pipelines.
Understanding how UI/UX decisions impact user experience directly.
