Inspiration
I remember being a young freshmen student stranded on campus with no car, and I had just arrived back to campus after a weekend of being home. I quickly realized I had forgotten my towel and with little to no help I was struck out of luck. That feeling was something I will never forget, and I never want anyone to feel as helpless as I did in that moment.
What it does
Connects good samaritans with other fellow college students who are willing to help. Someone can create a help request and anyone else on the platform can accept the request and help. When a ticket request is accepted, the creator of it is notified via text. A person can create either create a ticket or accept someone else's.
How we built it
We utilized a python library called flask to create a web service that can easily be hosted. The backend is python and the front end utilizes HTML,CSS, and javascript. We host logins and other user data in Mongo databases.
Challenges I ran into
Figuring out how to transfer different file types between the different programming languages.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Built a full stack website and integrated a large number of APIs into one cohesive project.
What I learned
We learned a lot about databases and web development.
What's next for Campus-Help
We will make it a lot more user friendly and more aesthetically appealing.
