Inspiration

The Typical University Student Portal. Most of the time student portals are limited to their own students and arent really usable for students as a whole. We used that as a reference to create something like a "Community Board" for students in general.

What I had in mind when trying to build this web app is that, as an introvert myself, I would absolutely love it if i had more chance to socialize with the other students. And what better way to connect than with making use of the internet?

What it does

Our main function revolves around the use of a map. Simply put, users can post their whereabouts in said map in order to look for a study partner, a hangout, a study session, or anything a student could ever need.

How we built it

First we collected opinions from other students. The question we used to ask them are things like "What do u think is a problem we have in PPMK when it comes to connectivity between students? For example important information are often looked over and missed entirely"

From there we listed those problems are try to think of a solution one by one and narrowed it down to one or two main features we'd like to implement into our web app

Challenges we ran into

Too many functions for a social media so we had to cut corners and emphasize on our main function. Also with it being summer holidays and all its hard to find a time where all team members are free lol.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of even completing this web app at all XD

What we learned

We learned how to use supabase, how good it is to use chatandbuild to get a starting web design instead of doing it from scratch. And i suppose we also learned a bit about how to work as a team.

What's next for Campus Connect

We'd probably try to make it into a full fledged web app, as the version we submitted is largely incomplete
