Inspiration

Campus Connect was inspired by our own everyday experiences as students. We constantly struggled to find study materials, relied on scattered WhatsApp groups for updates, faced delays in hostel and campus complaints, and saw how difficult it was for students to find teammates, exchange skills, or even report sensitive issues like mental health concerns or ragging safely. There was no single platform that truly supported all student needs at once—everything was fragmented. This real gap in the student ecosystem motivated us to build Campus Connect as a unified solution that simplifies student life by bringing nationwide student tools and campus-specific services into one smart platform.

What it does

Campus Connect is a unified student ecosystem that combines nationwide student tools with campus-specific services in one single platform. It helps students manage their academic life, campus activities, collaboration, and well-being without depending on multiple apps or offline systems. At the nationwide level, Campus Connect provides a Barter System for skill exchange, a Student Marketplace for buying and selling second-hand items, and a Digital Library for accessing previous year papers, notes, and study materials. At the campus level, it offers essential services such as Lost & Found, Hostel & Campus Complaints, Mental Health and Anti-Ragging (anonymous reporting), a Teammate Finder for projects and hackathons, an Events Hub for clubs, exams, and assignments, and an AI Chatbot to answer campus-related questions. Together, these features create a smart, connected, and practical solution that makes student life more organized, collaborative, and stress-free.

How we built it

We built Campus Connect using Base44, starting by dividing the solution into two parts: nationwide features (Barter System, Marketplace, Digital Library) and campus features (Lost & Found, Complaints, Mental Health & Anti-Ragging, Teammate Finder, Events, Chatbot). Using Base44’s no-code components, we created mobile-friendly pages, forms, and lists for each feature and connected them to structured data so that submissions (like complaints, teams, items, and posts) are stored and visible to users. We then added simple logic for things like join requests in teams, anonymous mental health/anti-ragging submissions, and a keyword-based chatbot for campus queries. Finally, we built a public landing page, prepared a pitch deck, recorded a demo video, and organized everything into a single Google Drive folder for a clean, judge-ready submission.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was getting all the features to work smoothly together in a short time. Some buttons and flows, like the team join requests and chatbot replies, were not working at first and took time to fix. Designing sensitive features like mental health and anti-ragging while keeping everything anonymous and safe was also challenging. Since we were learning Base44 while building the project, understanding how data flows between forms and lists took extra effort. Finally, preparing everything as per hackathon guidelines—landing page, PPT, demo video, and links—was another task we had to carefully manage.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are especially proud of introducing a Barter System for skill exchange, which is a first-of-its-kind feature for students in our context and promotes collaboration without money. We are also very proud of building Mental Health and Anti-Ragging support into the platform, as these are often ignored or looked down upon in society, yet they are critical for student safety and well-being.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to turn real student problems into a practical digital solution. We gained hands-on experience with Base44, understood how to connect data with UI, and learned the importance of clean user flow and mobile-first design. We also learned how teamwork, testing, and continuous iteration play a huge role in building a reliable and meaningful product.

What's next for Campus Connect

In the future, we plan to expand Campus Connect by adding features like student transport and ride pooling to make daily commuting easier and more affordable. We also aim to explore monetization options such as premium features and partnerships, so the platform can sustain itself while continuing to remain student-friendly. Our long-term vision is to scale Campus Connect across multiple campuses and turn it into a truly nationwide student ecosystem.
