Inspiration
After recognizing that we were aiming for a target audience of University Students, we interviewed students and found pain points about their frustrations about navigating their college campuses. Their responses confirmed that they have to use a pile of different apps to connect with peers, get to their classes, and find events.
What it does
A navigation app for university students. Uses AR technology and routing algorithms to show students arrows towards their upcoming classes. Also lists events (study sessions, club meetings, and university run social gatherings) on a map view for students to attend. Finally recommends students connect based on their compatibility. Campus Compass is more than just a way to find your way, though. It's also a lively social hub just for college students. With a live map view, you can easily find events like study sessions, club meetings, and big social get-togethers. Events are color-coded to make it easier to find them: pink for school events, blue for study sessions, and green for social get-togethers. It's not enough to just go to events; we need to build a society built upon the inclusion of students.
How we built it
We used Procreate for our logo, Figma for the App, PowerPoint for the pitch deck and Uizard for the basic wireframe.
Challenges we ran into
Challenges was management of the tasks. There was an imbalance at the start because we did a lot of solo work and had troubles after we began collaborating. We were able to effectively complete this however we had minor troubles organizing it all. Another challenge we ran into was not over expanding our app and realizing that we had a lot more we could implement, but we had to stay within our realistic expectations of a prototype.
