Campus Buy

Inspiration

I noticed that most college students create waste by dumping their items after the end of each semester. The main purpose of this app is help reduce the amount of waste produced by college students.

What it does

The app connects other students to sellers on campus.

How I built it

We built this app using Google email authentication, Firebase Realtime Database and Storage.

Challenges I ran into

We were having difficulties sharing our codes on GitHub.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I and my team are proud to create an app which will help minimize environmental waste and also help other students find the items they want at an affordable price.

What I learned

We learned a lot on how to use Firebase and Google Authentication. We also learned how to work with each other remotely using GitHub.

What's next for Campus Buy

For our next move, we plan on improving the UI/UX design to make the app more additive to students. This will on the hand provoke students to sell their unwanted items rather than dumping them. Also we plan on integrating it with machine learning to recommend the best items for each user.
